Currently, I'm up to

Sabbatical year
I'll dedicate 2026 to experimenting with my own ideas, interests and projects. I've decided to take a sabbatical when an opportunity to step back from my daily job on great terms presented itself. I still consider cyber security to be fun, too important and positively challenging. I might seek for a new role. Generally, I'm approaching this period of life with an open mind.

Exercising in combat sports
I do HEMA longsword fencing and Muay Thai. Coached sessions are high-intensity, including sparring sessions. It's perfect for confidence and staying in shape. I attempt to show up for it 2-3 times a week. Combat sports demand mental focus, which is excellent for resetting the mind and channeling energy. Bruises happen, yet I love the total experience.

Design of digital solutions
I'm sharing my cyber security skills with the world by creating digital products. My main project is Ørnsyn, where you can find tools I've created. I’m really not into online marketing or sales, so promoting publicly is the most challenging part of the project for me.

Living on the Norwegian west coast
The west coast of Norway is wild, the landscape mesmerizing and the weather often quite harsh. This combination will either get the best or the darkest elements out of you. Living there is both challenging and satisfying. I sometimes call this place the mirror side of California. Absolutely not for sunshine lovers or comfort seekers. I'm enjoying this environment by going out often and planning occasional trips along the coast of the Atlantic.

Getting the Norwegian citizenship
I've finally obtained the Norwegian citizenship. In the process, I have passed C1 level exam in Norwegian communication which I'm very proud of. The whole application process took effort, time, money and dedication. Although it is completely possible to live in Norway without all that, there is additional comfort in being able to call this country formally a home. I wonder what comes next.
